Jackson 08'

Jackson Hole

We went on our annual Jackson Hole trip to run the Snake River. This is the 7th year in a row. It is something we look forward to every year. This time we got into Jackson Hole a day before we had our campground reserved at Station Creek. We hiked Jenny Lake up to a beautiful waterfall. That night we stayed on some property that Cy's parents own. Hiking Jenny Lake.
Spencer Thomas always finds some sort of reptile where ever he goes. This time was no
different. He found a snake. He let the other boys take turns holding it before he let it go.

I walked around the corner on our hike, to find Christian taking a dip in the lake!

Kings of the mountain!

After the hike while we were waiting for the rest of the crew, I saw this lit'l
critter. I thought it was so cute standing on it's hind legs. I had to get a picture!

Chandler and Tyson at the Waldron's property. We got there late at night,
so it was dark. When we woke up and looked outside we saw the views.
It was beautiful!
Camden & Reese

Before we headed to our campground at Station Creek, we drove up
to an amazing waterfall just a few minutes from the Waldron's property.
This is where they filmed Legends of the Fall. It was breath taking.
Chandler & Justin

This is our yellow raft. We thought since the Jackson Hole
trip is a tradition we should invest in our own raft. This is the
second year we have had it.
Camden had so much fun on the river trip.
He was not one bit scared.

Chandler is a true river boy! He loves the
river so much. He would rather ride down on
a duckie then in the raft.
Chandler, Daniel and Ben Pack oaring the duckie.
They did a great job and had no fear going through
Kahuna and Lunch Counter.
Christian has come a long way. A couple a years ago he wanted
nothing to do with the river. There was one year he didn't go on the river once.
This year he went on every run but one. He even oared a duckie with Sue Ross. He did such a great job! I am so glad he has conquered his fear.
Christian & Sue

Cy oaring a boat down. Christian is in the back of the boat.
This was a rough ride through Lunch Counter. Christian said he
almost fell out. He didn't fall out, but Cy did!

Chandler and Lisa Packer cliff jumping.
That kid has no fear!

Back at camp making a craft.

This beautiful bald eagle lives in a tree along the Snake River.

We had such a great time. It is always so sad when the trip is over.
Good thing there is always next year! I can't wait!
Thank You Thomas', Packs, Waldrons, Greens, Packers, Dunennebiels, Ross' & Rasmussens
for such a great trip!

John Mayer & Colbie Caillat

There is a great story about these tickets. It didn't start out great, but it ended that way.
Chris came home from work at 4:45. We were leaving for the concert at 5:30. He went down to his office. He hollered up to me from downstairs "Lisa is the John Mayer Concert sold out?" I didn't know, but it wasn't a worry because we already had our tickets or so I thought. I thought that Chris had bought the tickets a couple of weeks before hand, but it turns out he didn't. He found someone online named Robin who was selling some tickets. She was going to meet us at the gates of the concert to give them to us. Robin had called while we were on our way to see when we would be at the gate (we were stuck in traffic, so it was taking longer to get there than we had planned). Chris told Robin we would call her when we were at the gate. When we arrived he called her, but she didn't answer. He tried several times. In the mean time Lisa P. went up to talk to a girl who she thought might be the girl with our tickets. It wasn't but the girl said she had an extra ticket she wasn't using. She said we could just have it, she rummaged through her wallet to get it and found another ticket also. That makes 2 tickets, just what we needed. The part I couldn't believe was she gave them to us for FREE! Thank you Lisa P. for finding such a sweet girl and thank you to that sweet girl whoever you are! Robin called back shortly after and left a message that she didn't hear the phone, but still had our tickets. Never mind Robin we don't need them anymore!

Colbie Caillat opened for John Mayer.
I love John Mayer and he put on a great concert!

Summer Concert

The concert was at the Usana amphitheater. The Packers came with us. It was fun listen to the concert outside. The weather was perfect. We drove Lisa's Jeep that she has had since highschool. The top was off with the wind blowing through our hair. We felt so young again!

Debbie was at the concert too. John had to go out of town, so Debbie made it a girls night out. She didn't sit by us, but she did find us before the concert had started and visited with us for a bit.

Smore Night

We had another smore party at the Bell's house. We did this once before a few weeks ago. It
was such a hit that we decided to do it again. This is the yummy spread of smoring options that we had to choose from.
One of our favorite smores was the P-Nut Butter Cup Smore.

We had a fun time with the Bell and Harris families.
Thank You Wade and Lara for letting us use your
backyard.

Chandler was such a great help. He helped light the
fire and put the fire out when we were all done.

Here is a recipe for one of my favorite Smores
Strawberry and White Chocolate
________________________
2 chocolate graham crackers
1 toasted coconut marshmallow
1 piece of white chocolate
1 sliced strawberry

Cabin

We went up to Maria's parents cabin to have Chris look at some work that needed to be
done. We also ate dinner up there. It was a nice enjoyable afternoon.Christian took this picture of Austin and Camden playing.
The picture is a little out of focus, but I thought it was
so cute! Camden loves to play chef and cook things for you. He
was happy to have his cousin help him!
Chandler, Rachel and Christian collected rocks and
then traded them with one another.

Chandler loved playing with Amanda's
dog Harley. It made me ask myself,
does he need his own puppy? He wants one.
I've been telling him to save his money up.
That will take a while, so I figure I'm safe, at
least for now!

Another Rodeo?

We went to another rodeo. This time it was the Draper City Rodeo. The Thomas' came with us and we had a lot of fun. Debbie said "I didn't realize how fun a rodeo could be!" We had great seats on the front row, so we saw all of the rodeo action!Camden and Jaida
Christian and Chandler had better luck with the
cash cow this time and both got a dollar, so did
Daniel, Spencer and Jessica. Way to go!
Camden did the cash cow to. He was so cute to
watch. He took off his shoes and socks out in the
arena, so he could run faster. He probably
fell about 5 times out there running around! It was
a riot to watch him.

Thanks Draper City for a great rodeo and
Thanks Thomas' for coming with us, even
though it took some talking into!
